A love letter to el campo that raised me. This painting was created while I was still in college, earning my degree in Art History at CUNY Queens, but my heart was back in Aguas Buenas - my grandfather’s land surrounded by jungle greens, bamboo tapping like drums in the wind, and the coquí choir serenading the nights. The river was our companion, splashing joy into our childhood days while ducks danced downstream. My brother and I turned that place into our playground, collecting memories under the trees and sky.
This piece carries all of that - movement, music, and a sense of wild freedom rooted in family.
